Once an affiliates begin to sign up actually is automatically registered in the system and it is your duty to check your internet always. FTC  is in-charge for making their marketers responsible for actions of their affiliates.  If your affiliates get out of control or marketing your product then it could cost you a lot of money.

If you want  have hundreds of affiliates to sign up your program like hobbyists, spammers, webmasters and even marketers ,it's very important that you check the background of the affiliates you will able to signup on a regular basis and check if they are promoting a product that are acceptable in your company and above all - its legal.

Below are some tips when screening:
1.  All affiliates must have an active web site.  If not they may be a spammers.
2.  The affiliate site content must be related to your products or services.
3.  The site should have appropriate content.  
4.  Misuse of content, the content information must be clear and precise that they can use from your website.  

Affiliate fraud
Fraud with affiliates in the internet has been increasing over the last several years, which you must screen your affiliates on a regular basis. There are two main types of fraud affiliates :

Malware - Some hackers have developed software that is installed on a machine normally as part of a free download on the internet. When someone clicks on the affiliate link, the true affiliate ID is replaced with the hackers.  

Fake purchase - If you have a product of high price and returns large commissions for your affiliates, hackers might sign-up which can stole or fake your credit card information to purchase products via their links.  

Communicating with affiliates
Good affiliates are normally busy and can easily forget about your services and products. As time goes by your offers can wind up less in less visited areas or accidentally deleted.

It is very important to stay in contact with your affiliates with a high performance. Do not wait for them to contact you or wait for them to contact in times of their problem. By taking time to contact them you are showing that you are interested for your partnership on them.

You don't need a new product as an excuse to contact your power affiliates, even if it's just a quick note to ask if they need anything or if they have problem, you can also use feedback on your program.

Having a well manage successful affiliate program is not an easy task you can fully automate or place in, you must be involved to it.  Satisfied affiliates are more productive and more income they contribute to your company.
